Experience.

Andrew started working on board in 2000, before transferring to Union Station. He has over a decade of Union experience: he was first elected as a Regional Representative in 2015, was the Local Chairperson for VIA Agreement No. 1 between 2010 and 2015, and was a Grievance Officer from 2008 to 2010. Over that time, he has written hundreds of grievances at all steps of the grievance procedure, presented numerous cases at arbitration, successfully appealed cases at the WSIB, and dealt with a wide range of issues, which makes him more than qualified. Beyond the Union, Andrew worked outside VIA Rail in the Human Resources field for several years, experience which gives him a unique perspective on the position.

In addition, Andrew has the education to support his experience: he is bilingual, with an Honours Degree in Political Studies from Queen’s University and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources from Sheridan College.
